1Translation is a specialist sworn translation service for UK official documents. We focus on four languages (Spanish, Italian, French and German) and work exclusively with registered, accredited translators recognised by the relevant authorities in each country.
We are operated by 1Apostille, a long-established UK document services company. Our clients are typically UK nationals or residents who need to use official UK documents abroad and require a sworn translation that will be accepted by foreign civil registries, embassies, courts and public authorities.
The name means two things, and we think both are worth saying.
We built 1Translation to be the go-to specialist for sworn translation of UK documents into European languages. Not a generalist agency offering a hundred services in a hundred languages. A focused service that does one thing well. Our translators are registered and accredited in their specific language and jurisdiction. That focus is deliberate.
When you need to use a UK document abroad, sworn translation is often the one piece you cannot do without. A foreign civil registry, consulate or court will typically require a translation produced by a recognised sworn translator, and only that will do. 1Translation is designed to be the single service that resolves that requirement, simply and reliably.
1Translation is operated by 1Apostille, a UK-based document services company with extensive experience in apostilles, notarisation and official document authentication for use abroad. 1Apostille has handled thousands of UK document requests for individuals, solicitors and businesses requiring documents to be legalised for international use.
Many foreign authorities require both a sworn translation and an apostille on the original document. 1Apostille handles the apostille; 1Translation handles the sworn translation. Both services can be arranged together, with one point of contact. Orders for translations are placed through the 1Apostille shop, which means a single checkout process regardless of which services you need.
We created 1Translation as a dedicated brand because sworn translation has its own specific requirements, its own set of questions, and its own audience. A person searching for a sworn translation of their birth certificate for use in Italy needs different information from someone searching for an apostille. A focused site serves those customers better than a generic services page.

For translation only, email a clear scan or good-quality photo of your document to translations@1apostille.org.uk. You do not need to post the original.
Your document is translated by a registered sworn translator for the target language. Typical turnaround is 1–2 working days from receipt of your scan.
The completed sworn translation is posted to you. If you also require an apostille on the original, we will advise on sending your original document at that stage.
Sworn translation of UK official documents from English into Spanish, Italian, French or German. Documents translated include birth, marriage and death certificates, DBS and ACRO certificates, decree absolutes, driving licences, academic documents, and company documents.
We do not translate from languages other than English. We do not offer translation into languages other than Spanish, Italian, French and German.
